Our Business

While we grapple with the complex issue of climate change, it is important that the livelihoods of affected communities are central to any discourse. It is more essential now than ever before that every development goal, every policy and measure takes account of the natural environment, the constituency, the roles and responsibilities. Thus when we design programs, prepare policies and measures, it is necessary to understand the human landscape interactions.

We have come a long way and we now understand the major direct and underlying causes of deforestation and forest degradation whose impacts are no longer just environmental, but social, political, and economic. We are observing that the present day environmental degradation in a large proportion of developing nations is a result of inter-general poor resources management ranging from poor policies, poor governance, lack of capacity (financial, technical, managerial) and sometimes outright lack of understanding of the value of our natural resources.

With these few thoughts, it is necessary our program designs are nationally and locally relevant with long-term sustainability being a central theme. It is encouraging to see international development partners placing emphasis on these issues.

At Greensoft,  we are helping development partners and implementing agencies to increase the impact of their initiatives as well as value for money. Our core areas of expertise include community development, managing implementation of low emissions development strategies specifically reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, livelihoods and climate resilience mitigation and adaptation.  We support development agencies in improving project performance and achieving intended impacts through:
